I have just completed a n/a to tt conversion with a JDM motor, and the best advice i can give you is plan and take you time. Most of my problems where due to not taking time to replace parts which should of been swapped due to laziness and tring to a buck ( exp- i didn't replace my oil pump and it went bad). In the end it ended up costing me more time and money. My car is running now but I still have some issues which I must deal with because I was impatient. If you have time I would investigate the engine by breaking it down maticulously inspecting and then rebuilding. What ever looks suspect replace and some parts you should just replace no matter what like hoses and timing belt. One of the parts that i should of replaced was my injectors. Also make sure your turbo's are good condition or rebuild to be safe, and always make sure when rebuilding that everthing is tighten down and clamped properly because is a lot harder to fix when the engine is in. I hope this helps because when buy a JDM engine there is a risk even with a warrentee.. good luck
